Not sure if you spotted this, but Pepper Schwartz at CNN hit the nail on the head with this funny remark today:
“So people are either surprised or snarky about Martha Stewart going onto Match.com to find a guy.
What did they think she was going to do: Make a man out of paper maché or cookie dough?”
What I liked about Pepper’s story is that she dove into the often neglected topic of “romance over the age of 50” in a witty and informative way.

You’ve heard that 50 is the new 40? (Some even say it is the new 30; but to me this implies that 30 is the new 10, which frightens me). The point is, the assumptions many people used to have about women over 50 are no longer valid. Women are marrying later or not at all, having children later or not at all, changing careers, creating non-traditional relationships and households, altering their looks, and in general exploring a whole range of possibilities we never used to.
But, in Martha’s case, she has had a fabulous career, built an empire, spent a bit of time in jail for insider trading, so hats off to her for jumping back into the dating pool!
