I know I’ve talked about this a lot recently but I simply love the summer! I’m one of those people who only survive the winter because I know summer will eventually come around again. I guess that is why I encourage people to use this warm time of year to enjoy the outdoors and each other. There are so many things to do in the summer that there is absolutely no excuse to not go outside, get some fresh air and at the same time romance your girl or guy. Taking walks in the evening or at night is one major way to score some brownie points with your loved one since not only is the sunset or nighttime sky a big hitter on the romance scale but it also allows you two to have some quality time together. Quality time for the purpose of this post involves doing things together that do not involve zoning out in front of a TV show or a movie. We spend so much of our time already distracting ourselves that it’s almost as if we have nothing to talk about! don’t get me wrong it’s not as if I don’t have TV marathons myself but I do try to make a point of having at least one night a week devoted to some quality time with my loved one or some close friends.
If you are not into taking walks you can always go down to an interesting part of your town to distract you from the fact that you are walking. We like to play tourists in our town once in awhile and you’d be surprised at how many times we’ve discovered things to see that we never really knew existed! If you have a boardwalk near a river or a lake take advantage of it. The strong breeze that comes off the water will make you feel more alive than ever.
Take your darling to eat outdoors. Whether on a restaurant’s terrace or on a pic-nic, eating outdoors is always refreshing! I love it when we pair ourselves up with another couple and head downtown for a nice supper with a good bottle of wine. Conversations flow so easy and we always leave with a really good feeling. Taking a pic-nic might seem a bit cliche in terms of romance but you can never score wrongly with this unless your partner hates the outdoors and the bugs that tend to come with it. But let me tell you that there’s nothing better than napping on a comfy blanket spread on the grass after a good meal! So there are some ideas on how to boost your romance this summer, feel free to leave comments of any other ideas you may have come up with alone or with your partner!
