These academic sexperts conduct vigorous research in order to debunk destructive sexual myths and more. They make religious zealots, neocons, and no-fappers tremble and drool with every paper they publish and tweet they write. They have invested years of dedicated training and work to bring their fellow humans greater enlightenment in bed and beyond.

Dr. Nicole Prause – A sexual psychophysiologist with expertise in genital physiology, sex “addiction”, neuroscience, and statistics, Dr. Prause is currently a scientist at UCLA and also the founder of Liberos, LLC. Her groundbreaking work to debunk “porn addiction” and boldly call out the anti-porn lobby on their lies has made her a target of harassment by those who would see her silenced…all the more reason to follow her and support the work she does in the interest of facts and freedom.
Dr. Eric Sprankle – A Professor of Clinical Psychology and Co-Director of the Sexuality Studies program at Minnesota State University, Mankato, Dr. Sprankle is also a licensed clinical psychologist and an AASECT-certified sex therapist (although currently not in practice. His teaching and research focuses on sexuality, stigma, and Satanism, and he also leads the Sexual Health Research Team at Minnesota State. Bonus: his twitter feed is filled with some exquisite humor and cats.
Dr. David Ley – A world-renowned Clinical Psychologist, Certified Sex Therapist Supervisor, Consultant, and Expert Witness, Dr. Ley is highly sought after and definitely an important voice for sex positivity. He has appeared on various television programs and has been both interviewed in and published extensively by all manner of major media outlets. His latest book, Ethical Porn for Dicks, A Man’s Guide to Responsible Viewing Pleasure “is a humorous and provocative handbook for men who want to think more comprehensively about porn.”
Dr. Justin Lehmiller – Want to dive into the “why” behind sexual fantasies? Meet Dr. Lehmiller. He is a Research Fellow at The Kinsey Institute and author of the book Tell Me What You Want: The Science of Sexual Desire and How It Can Help You Improve Your Sex Life. He is an award-winning educator, having been honored three times with the Certificate of Teaching Excellence from Harvard University, where he taught for several years. A force of scholarly nature, he has published more than 50 academic works to date, including a textbook titled The Psychology of Human Sexuality (now in its 2nd edition) that is used in college classrooms around the world.
Dr. Nicole K. McNichols – In addition to being a professor at the University of Washington, Dr. McNichols writes bi-weekly articles for Psychology Today and is a TedX speaker and frequent contributor to other publications, news sources and podcasts. An enthusiastic proponent of sex positivity, she teaches “Psych 210: The Diversity of Human Sexuality“ to approximately 1200 students each quarter, and continues to be an advocate for sex education that is truly empowering and inclusive.

Dr. Ruth Westheimer – Not always active on Twitter, but the world-renown and beloved Dr. Ruth is basically the OG of sex therapy. This (now) 94 year-old pioneer walked so many of today’s sexperts could run. Besides working as a sex therapist, she’s also been a professor, talk show host, and author–and she’s literally spent her entire career normalizing discussions about sexuality that were once considered taboo.
