As 2013 draws to a close, it’s time to chime in with yet another list of memorable people and events, but this one focused on male porn stars. Not just from the year 2013, but the gents through the ages that supply some of the mechanics for making porn and to feature one in particular, Howie Gordon, that became an adult industry staple during the 1970s and 1980s.
But first, let’s take a look at my top 10 list of porn guys I find hot in some way from over the years. I’ve limited this list to guys that have performed in the 21st century. Coming up next is the “Golden Age Of Porn” of the 1970s-1990s with such notables as John Holmes, John Leslie and other icons from the “Boogie Nights” days that had some VERY hot guys. But, for now, here you go. My picks for the top ten from the past 14 years, with a little “back to the future” homage to Howie Gordon at the end……

10. Evan Seinfeld
Evan Seinfeld is a 45 year old American musician and worked as an actor, director, photographer and writer of many adult films. He is best known as a founding member of music group “Biohazard”. Always a diverse fellow, Seinfeld was featured in the 2008 book, Permanence: Tattoo Portraits by artist Kip Fulbeck. Seinfeld has made numerous appearances at the TED Conferences, speaking about his love of majestic flutes and beautiful birds. He is also one of the characters in the book Sex Tips from Rock Stars by Paul Miles.
On November 21, 2011, he appeared on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills performing in Ace Young’s band for Taylor Armstrong’s daughter’s fifth birthday party.
He is also the ex-husband of actress Tera Patrick. She gave him the ultimatum of choosing between being a porn actor and their marriage. He choose porn. Go figure. Since 2010, Seinfeld has been in a relationship with singer and former pornographic actress, Lupe Fuentes.

9. Scott Nails
Scott Nails is a 31 years old adult movie actor and model originally from Arizona. He has starred in more than 1000 adult movies and has received several awards for ”best scene” in the adult industry. In just one year, Scott performed in 105 adult films. That’s pretty impressive!
Speaking of lists, check out Scott’s IMDB movie credits list here. It’s almost astounding! Although not the biggest winner of awards in the biz (4 wins and 22 nominations), he’s a reliable presence in the porn industry (as well as one HUNKY fellow, which is why he made this list!).
His wins include “Best Group Sex Scene”, “Best Male Newcomer”, “Best Oral Sex Scene”, and “Best Stud”.

8. Dale Dabone
Dale Dabone is a 41 year old actor, director, musician, stunt rider and spokesmodel of American Pornographic Movies. He has starred in more than 1500 adult movies. Coincidentally, Dale was the star of a Sssh.com/Wasteland.com original series, “Into The Mist” back in 2007 and I had the pleasure to be on set with him (me behind the camera!). A charming and high energy actor, he deserves the dozens and dozens of awards he has received over the years in the adult industry.
He is currently the Spokesperson for Raw-nation and Hot Rawks.

7. Nacho Vidal
Nacho Vidal is a 39 year old Spanish adult movie actor, director, producer, writer and camera operator. In 31 May 2005, Vidal announced his retirement from pornography and married Colombian model and porn star Franceska Jaimes. They moved to a mansion previously owned by his family where he and his wife started a family there. However, the couple divorced six weeks later and Vidal returned to porn only a few months after announcing his retirement. He also has a daughter from an earlier relationship with Venezuelan Rosa Castro.
Vidal is a protégé of Rocco Siffredi, who brought him to Hollywood in 1998. In his prolific career he has starred in more than 1500 movies; he has also produced and/or directed many others (since 2000, this has included “she-male” and gay titles for the Evil Angel video company). Although self-stated as heterosexual, he has directed some gay porn films. Vidal has further said that he is very open-minded, but is heterosexual in his personal life.

6. Hakan Serbes
Also on the “other side of the pond” in Europe, there’s German porn actor Hakan Serbes who was introduced to the adult business in 1994. Hakan in known in the industry for being a very friendly and sympathetic guy. Hakan been attributed to a romantic affair with porn star Selen who he met on the set of the movie Wild ( 1997). After another romantic relationship with the Czech actress Sylvia Saint, he temporarily interrupted his career in 1998 after just five years in business and dozens of films. “The Erotic Labors of Hercules,” in which he plays the role of the famous mythological character, was one of his last film appearances at that time.
In 2009 he opened an independent music label label, HAGROcon based in Hanover, and under the the name of “Valentino” has produced and launched a porn-rap genre called “Erotika Vol 1”

5. Roberto Malone
Roberto Malone is a 56 year old Italian adult film actor. He starred in more than 200 adult movies. He was briefly married to Dutch pornographic film actress Zara Whites. He is now married to Hungarian pornographic film actress Eva Falk. He also played a small role in a french movie “Romance”.
Born in 1956, Roberto Malone (born Roberto Pipino on Halloween in Turin, Italy) is his stage name and he has appeared in at least 236 pornographic films since the 1970s.
Although best known under the pseudonym “Roberto Malone,” he has also performed under the names of “Bob Holmes”, “Roberto Mallone,” “Bob Malone,” “Robert Malone” or, “Roberto Mel.”

4. Brian Pumper
Brian Pumper (yes. there had to be at least ONE guy on this list with a “funny porn name”) is a 32 year old actor, rapper and director of American adult movies. He began performing in the adult industry in 2001 and has appeared in over 950 adult movies.
In 2004 he won the AVN Award for Best Three-Way Sex Scene, for Weapons of Ass Destruction 2. He won in 2007 for “Best Hardcore Anal”, and in 2009 he won for “Best Interracial Oral”.
Pumper formed his own production company Freaky Empire in 2006. In July 2010 it was announced that he starred in a porn film with Montana Fishburne, the daughter of actor Laurence Fishburne. It doesn’t look like that went very well.

3. James Deen
Current heartthrob of women that enjoy watching porn, James Deen is a 27 year old actor and director. He entered in the adult industry at the age of 18. He became the youngest actor to win the “Male Performer of the Year” award.
As I wrote last month on Erotic Scribes, James says performing in porn films was his ambition since he was in kindergarten. After entering the porn industry in 2004, he initially worked with older female performers. Deen’s appearance has been described as “normal guy” or “slightly skate punk”. Deen, who has appeared in approximately 1,400 films, has made over $20,000 per month from his performances and describes himself as “overpaid”.
Beyond his charms and sexual prowess, James also seems to have an unusually strong fetish for burritos.

2. Peter North
For over 20 years Canadian-born Peter North has been one of the most reliable performers in porn, with youthful good looks and a body sculpted almost to perfection from long hours spent in the gym. His career began in the days when porn movies were take-offs of legit films; they had plots, dialogue, relatively hefty budgets and were meant to be seen in theaters. He is still going strong, a holdover (but not a “relic”) from the “good old days” in this era of straight-to-video, low-budget rush jobs with no acting, little if any plot, tattooed / strutting / preening “actors” and bored, disinterested or barely conscious “actresses”. (Those were his quotes, not mine, by the way. Don’t yell at me!)

1. Rocco Siffredi
Yet another Italian, Rocco Siffredi is a 49 year old Italian adult movie star. His real name is “Kocco Antonio Tano”. After starting his film career in France, he subsequently starred in films abroad in such varied locales as Budapest, Hungary (which later became the headquarters of his production company, Rocco Siffredi Produzioni), Canada, Russia, Brazil, and various Eastern European countries. Ron “The Hedgehog” Jeremy is porn’s ambassador to the world, having appeared in dozens of mainstream movies and TV shows. He has performed in and directed more than 2,300 films in a career that began in 1977 when a girlfriend sent his photo to Playgirl. Although he only has two AVN Awards to his name, he is deservedly in the Hall of Fame. The Clown Prince of Porn is legendary for his big cock as well as his ability to deliver his money shot on cue. With hundreds upon hundreds of films to choose from, Ron’s hard to miss.

Saving my personal favorite for last: the ultimate “blast from the past” – Howie Gordon
“Who?” you might ask?
Richard Pacheco (born Howard Marc Gordon; May 5, 1948), and AKA Howie Gordon, is an American retired porn film actor, writer and director who departed from the X-rated business in the mid-1980s.
He appeared in more than 100 x-rated films and videos, and won multiple adult film awards for Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, and Best Director. He was Playgirl magazine’s Man of the Year in 1979.
Although Gordon toyed with the idea of becoming a rabbi, he ditched it upon discovering he’d have to study Aramaic for two years. After graduating from Antioch College in Ohio in 1970, he met his wife Carly — who would go on to become a therapist — and had a different kind of religious experience: “wife at first sight.”
But something was missing from Gordon’s fairly idyllic existence.
“I had my wife and I had all the love I needed. But sexually speaking, I wanted to explore something else,” Gordon, now 65 years old, said. “I wanted to have a sexual experience that had nothing to do with love or relationship. I wanted some sex as ‘recreation’ and I wanted one of those ‘bad’ girls’.”
And so, with his wife’s blessing, Gordon went on to become one of the biggest male porn stars of the 1970s and 1980s.
At this point in time, most of Howie’s movies are lost to the sands of time, but there remains one in DVD distribution to check out here. I also managed to dig up a PG-Rated trailer on YouTube for his 1980 film, “The Maltese Dildo” (renamed “Blond Heat” after a restraining order from the Hollywood studio that made “Maltese Falcon”). In this film, he goes by his real name, “Richard Pacheco” just to confuse the issue a little more. Co-starring with the legendary Seka and John Leslie. They just don’t make ’em like this anymore!
