Hollywood Actors That Started In Porn

In a recent article, I took a look at what some Hollywood celebs and actors had to say about liking to watch porn.  It seemed the next logical step to take a peek at some that not only enjoy watching porn, but have appeared in it at some point in their acting career.  The following obligatory infographic gives you the overview, but scroll on down for a little more detailed information! Go team! What is great about these stories is that they mostly come from a kinder and gentler time, well before the current craziness of “stars” like Paris Hilton and Tom Sizemore making their own “secret sex tapes” that invariably go viral to keep them in the TMZ spotlight.  These were legitimate actors, getting paid an often crummy day rate, but did it to pay some bills while they worked on breaking into mainstream!  And yes, Colin Farrell did a sex tape last year, but he’s so darned cute, and a very good actor, we can forgive him that little publicity stunt.

JACKIE CHAN
“I had to do anything I could to make a living 31 years ago, but I don’t think it’s a big deal, even Marlon Brando used to be exposed in his movies,” said Chan after it was revealed he starred in a Hong Kong skin flick called “All in the Family”. Featuring Chan getting it on with a famous porn actress of the time, the cast also included Sammo Hung.

CAMERON DIAZ
At the tender age of 19 (two years before her breakout role alongside rubber-faced Jim Carrey in The Mask), Cameron shot some softcore S&M footage with another lucky girl, ostensibly to get some tasteful nude glossies “for her portfolio.” (Apparently it was filmed just in case the photos didn’t develop properly.)

SYLVESTER STALLONE
Before he made it as an action hero, Stallone received the kingly sum of $200 to star in the 1970s classic “The Party at Kitty and Stud’s”, wherein he managed to snag the plum titular role of “Stud.” Originally released as hardcore pornography, after Stallone became famous the more graphic scenes and money shots were cut from subsequent releases, and the movie was re-packaged under the names of Italian Stallion and Cocky.

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER
There are plenty of unsubstantiated rumors floating around that Arnie went “gay for pay” in some early films, but he can’t deny posing nude for controversial photographer  Robert Mapplethorpe in the mid-’70s. (He also posed butt-ass-nekkid for gay magazine After Dark.). Rumor also has it that the original theatrical cut of The Terminator showed Arnold’s schnitzengruben in an opening scene. Ach de Leiber!

COLIN FARRELL

Early last year Colin Farrell attempted to block the distribution of a 13-minute sex tape he made with ex-girlfriend and Playboy Playmate Nicole Narain. Personally, we think that’s just being selfish. Even the manliest of men has to admit that Farrell isn’t exactly bad looking.

JANE FONDA
According to a former editor of Hustler magazine, in the early ’90s Larry Flynt unsuccessfully attempted to purchase a video in which Jane Fonda (48 at the time), husband Ted Turner and an unidentified brunette share a queasily intimate moment of graphic, horrifying, old-people sex. When questioned, the Oscar winner admitted to having had threesomes with her first husband, French movie director Roger Vadim, back in the ’70s; naturally she didn’t film any of those, back when she was Barbarella hot.

HELEN MIRREN
OK, so it’s not technically porn – well, actually it probably is – but few people know that the high class English MILF that is Helen Mirren started her career doing movies which certainly seemed to have very little budget for a costume department. Starring in the ’70s controversy-cow, Caligula, Helen spent most of her scenes prancing around without clothing and engaging in varying levels of simulated coitus. The original spent more time being edited and cut by film boards than almost any other movie of the age, and after having scenes directly depicting fellatio taken out, was finally released to a presumably less expectant audience…

MARILYN MONROE
Brunette, ambitious but anonymous, Norma Jean bought a bottle of peroxide, renamed herself Marilyn and stripped off. And the rest is history. The 1940s pictures she agreed to have taken of her frankly perfect naked form aren’t quite in the same porn league as Paris Hilton or Pam Anderson, but it was a simpler age back then, and it certainly would have made grandpa blush when he wasn’t shooting people in Europe. Apparently Norma Jean did like it hot!

Maybe we should start thinking of The Red Shoe Diaries as a Mickey Mouse Club for fledgling 1990s TV icons. Like Joey (sorry – Matt), David appeared in an episode of the soft porn series before his career took off. Then he went off to fight aliens and later to play a sex addict in Californication.
